It isn't everyday one can boast of being a King's neighbour.

This is a privilege for many who live near the national palace along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim in Segambut.

Like for Tesfura Jamaluddin, 48, it's something they can "tell their friends about".

> Entrepreneur Azlinda Arshad, 46:

"I feel proud. Also, it's easier to give directions to my place."

I just have to say "Google, Waze" Istana Negara Gate 3!

The palace is a pride of all Malaysians. Haresh Deol

> Housewife Yashota Ramachandran, 34:

"I see the Istana from my kitchen. Cooking with a view like that is glorious, it's therapeutic."

Yashota looks forward to Monday's coronation.

> Oil and gas industry worker Johan Johari, 42:

"I don't hesitate to tell people I live right beside the palace. It gives me a sense of pride."

Johan enjoys watching the palace lights go on while unwinding after long day at work.

> Student Alif Fikri, 17:

"My room faces the Istana, I get to hear and see the marching practice live."

"It's pretty cool! Something to talk about in school."

> Housewife Amelia Thong, 46:

"I moved in because of the view, though I wish there were more greenery in the area."
