KUALA LUMPUR ― D’Herbs Holdings Sdn Bhd founder Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman is no stranger to controversy, even while sightseeing abroad.
While holidaying in London, the cosmetics millionaire was shooed away by an English street musician for interrupting his performance at Portobello Road Market.
The Englishman was playing a classical rendition of U2’s “With or Without You” when Aliff suddenly joined in and started singing “Abang Nak Tegur”, his 2017 duet with wife Datin Seri Nur Shahida Mohd Rashid and entrepreneur Nur Sajat Kamaruzzaman.
“You can move over there,” the cellist told Aliff, who walked away embarrassed.
The 30-year-old businessman-turned-singer who documented the awkward incident via Instagram video explained he was merely trying to help the Englishman out of pity but took comfort in the fact that four passersby donated money during his unwelcomed cameo.
It did not stop there.
Malaysians flocked to Aliff’s Instagram page to express their shame over his obnoxious behaviour.
“You’re embarrassing Malaysians, what more you were out of key,” wrote @encik_apak.
Instagrammer wan_kannabe said, “The real definition of stupidity…Even if you are, don’t show it and at least try to look like an educated man.”
“It’s not funny at all. You are such a disgrace to our beloved Malaysia,” @sherry.al.sagoff, said.
