SEBERANG PERAI — Indonesian domestic worker Adelina Lisao died from multiple organ failure, a post-mortem report released by the police revealed.
The post-mortem, carried out by Dr Amir Saad Abdul Rahim at Seberang Jaya Hospital, also found Adelina’s organ failure was due to anemia.
The report further stated there was a high possibility Adelina was neglected.
Earlier, Indonesian Consul for Consular Affairs Neni Kurniati was at the hospital to identify Adelina’s body.
“We have positively identified her based on photographs we have of her and we will obtain the post-mortem report tomorrow,” she told reporters at the mortuary.
Neni said the consulate-general did not receive reports of abuse from Adelina prior to her death.
Adelina did not contact them or complain to them of abuse by her employers.
Neni said Adelina had came to Malaysia to work for her employer in 2014.
She said the consulate-general was tracing Adelina’s family based on the address in her passport.
“She was from Nusa Tenggara Timur but the address in her passport was not accurate, so we have to trace her family in her hometown,” she said.
Neni said Adelina’s body will be repatriated once the police complete procedures.
